Community Groups

Community Groups are in-home Bible study and fellowship groups. We believe these groups are as important as our Sunday morning service both for the community of our fellowship and for the personal growth of each member.

Community Groups are modeled after the meetings of the first church. Acts 2:42-47 tells us that the early church was “continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer.” It’s clear that they met both in a large group as well as in small groups “from house to house.”

  • Baldwin Group. Meets Fridays at 7 p.m. at various homes in the Baldwin City area. Led by Elder Scott Schultz. Contact Lisa Masson () for more information.
  • Barfield Group. Meets Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at CBC. Let by Elder David Barfield. Contact David (dave.) for more info.
  • College Group. “The Journey” meets Sundays at 6:30 p.m. on the KU campus. Contact group leader Nate Morsches () if you have any questions or you can click here to visit their webpage.
  • North Lawrence Group. Meets Friday nights at 6:45 in various homes in Lawrence and is led by Pastor Shaun LePage. This group is open to all, including those with young children. There are organized activities for the children while the adults are studying, but children are also welcome to sit in with the adults. Contact Charity Harris () with any questions about this group.
