Our Pastor

lepage.jpgIn October of 2005, Community Bible Church welcomed Shaun LePage as our new Senior Pastor. He was officially inducted as pastor of Community Bible Church on November 13, 2005.

LePage is a 1996 graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary’s Master of Theology (ThM) program. He spent 14 years in Coppell, Texas, serving as Associate Pastor of Worship and Youth for Coppell Bible Fellowship.

LePage helped plant the church while in seminary and watched it grow from about 55 people to over 300. He was ordained for full-time ministry by their elder board upon graduation from Dallas Seminary and served as an elder from 2001 to 2005.

LePage grew up in Joplin, Missouri, and graduated from McAuley High School and Missouri Southern State University. He married Elizabeth Osborn in 1990 and they now have five children–Hannah, Abigail, Josiah, Lydia and Mary.

“We don’t care about being in competition with the other churches in the Lawrence area,” LePage said. “What we care about is being faithful to what God wants us to be and do. I know He’s doing things in Lawrence and we just want to be part of His work.”

In his first sermon as Senior Pastor, LePage said, “We—Community Bible Church—must choose whether we will be a generation that faithfully serves God at this time and in this place. Every church and every generation of a church must choose whether or not they will faithfully serve God in their time and in their place.

“God has had faithful servants in every generation. But they cannot serve God now. God has faithful servants all over the world this day, but they cannot serve God here. This is our time. This is our place. At the risk of sounding overly, dramatic, I am not here to play games. I am not here to play church. I am here to faithfully serve God at this time and in this place. I have no agenda other than the hope that God can use me for His glory for however many days I have remaining.”

We invite you to come and meet our pastor.
