Our Leadership
Community Bible Church is led by two complementary ministries: An Elder Board and a Deacon Ministry.
The Board of Elders functions only under the headship of Christ and the authority of the Word of God. Elders are selected according to the principles laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. They are responsible to care for the spiritual needs of the church family, guard the purity of our doctrine, direct the administration of the church ordinances, discipline in accordance with the Word of God, share the ministry of pastoral care, approve all leadership positions and oversee the total operation of the church.
Deacons complement the work of the Elder Board by serving the needs of the poor, sick and needy. Deacons are appointed by the Elder Board according to the principles laid out in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. Deacons are like the seven spiritual men in Acts 6, who make sure that the important ministry of serving the poor, sick and needy among us is not neglected. In addition to serving the poor, sick and needy of CBC, our Deacons are helping us as a church family to minister to the poor, sick and needy outside our congregation.
