“Then men began to call upon the name of the Lord”
This Sunday: Genesis Worship
Sin was infecting God’s pristine creation at a rapid pace. The man and the woman who once walked with God in the Garden of Eden were now alienated from Him and blaming each other for their own rebellion. Vengeance, sexual sin and murder were the new normal. But in the midst of this very gray picture, a glimmer of light appeared: “Then men began to call upon the name of the Lord.” Some people cried out to God in desperation, in prayer and in worship.
This Sunday at 10:30 a.m., we will call upon the name of the Lord. We will worship together by remembering and celebrating the God we have come to know through Genesis 1-11. The Creator God. The Judge of sinners. The Savior who extends grace to all who will receive it by faith.
We want to reflect our Creator by being creative in this worship service. Some will sing original songs. Some will bring paintings and photographs of God’s amazing creation to display. Some will read a portion of Genesis 1-11 or a Psalm that celebrates the Maker of the universe. The children will be invited to participate and create something during the service, so our normal Sunday School classes for children will be cancelled this week. Please be with us for this unique offering of worship to our Creator.
