Are you spiritually mature?

Most people think they are spiritually mature, but how can we know? Can that sort of thing be measured? (If you’re not sure you’re a saved/born again Christian, click here.)

The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 about how to identify a spiritually mature person for leadership—men who could serve as elders and deacons in the local church. In the process, he described multiple qualities of a spiritually mature person. A tangible list to help us evaluate our own lives to determine whether we are maturing in Christ. Men and women throughout church history have used this list as a self-evaluation tool to get a clear picture of where they are right now and then develop a plan for growth in the future.

We invite you to contact us for a Spiritual Maturity Evaluation Tool. It consists of 20 questions developed from The Measure of a Manby Gene Getz (A study of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9). We strongly suggest you buy the book and do this evaluation on an even deeper level, but the Spiritual Maturity Evaluation Tool is a great way to get started. The key is to be brutally honest with yourself—soberminded. Not prideful on one extreme and not guilty of false-humility on the other. Ask God to lead you through the process and help you see reality—then give you clear direction about how to grow.

If you would like input regarding your answers to the Spiritual Maturity Evaluation Tool, please contact Pastor Shaun LePage (785-843-3239) and he will be glad to provide you with suggestions for how you can develop a more satisfying spiritual life. Your information and answers will not be shared with anyone outside CBC’s Elder Board.

If you have any questions about this tool or about Community Bible Church, or you would like to know more about growing to maturity in Christ, please contact us. The family of Community Bible Church would love to help you grow in Christ.
